Frigid temperatures in Toronto as polar vortex sets in

Environment Canada says temperatures in Toronto may be colder than those seen in the last “several years” as a polar vortex begins creeping south.

Sunday’s high isn’t expected to rise above the -7 C mark and the mercury will drop into the negative double digits later this evening, according to the national weather agency.

The wind chill will make it feel like -20 overnight before the cold really sets in to start the work week --

My family has been in the Toronto area since the late 1700’s……. This time of year is called WINTER…… which brings with it….. BITTER cold temperatures, lots of Snow & arctic winds…… since the beginning of time….🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s called winter in the northern hemisphere…. Stop making it seem like it’s an anomaly; IT IS NOT! Even for those folks acclimatised to the winter, this recent deep freeze is still a shock to their body's systems.
