Why not just continue when they have quietened down? It seemed spontaneous, their loud welcome, and probably only momentary.
I know people like rep’s to be dignified, but they should be allowed some relief from the often stultifying atmosphere. We are social animals, and we should be more accepting of our emotions, and expressing of them.
