BHTA welcomes increased airlift from U.S.

The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association has welcomed plans for increased airlift from the U.S. next winter.

From November, American Airlines will launch a daily non-stop flight from New York's JFK Airport and a Saturday-only service from Philadelphia.

Chairman of the BHTA, Renee Coppin says there's a strong link between airlift, arrivals and occupancy at hotels, villas and other properties.

She also expects there will be spillover benefits to restaurants and attractions.

Ms. Coppin highlighted some of the additional benefits of the new service.
