Honestly, both parties aren't wrong but they aren't right either. Kids need to understand the meaning of family time, parents need to understand the meaning of leisure time/ privacy. Ofc they can play games but there is a time and place for everything. Remember you are the ones who buy them the electronics. What you should have said was you get certain amount of time on them. You don't have to be overbearing just stern. Respect goes both ways guys

Love this video. My grandma would always tell people who criticize this generation, that they forgot who raised it. She was my biggest supporter. I miss her a lot 😞anyways keep up the amazing work Dhar Mann :)

Even myself as someone who spends quite a while on electronics, I understand how important it is to spend time with family. Life isn’t always about electronics. As long as there’s a balance between both I don’t see a problem!

There's tons of thing you can do without screens:
Make books
Make bracelets
Make potions with lotions

This mom is embodiment of my mother. One sibling uses the electronics too much, EVERY sibling gets their electronics taken away

I actually really liked the mom in this video. She has genuine concerns about how her kids are spending their time and doesn't give them everything they want. She tries to keep them happy but she struggles with how best to support them. She isn't a perfect hero or a one-dimensional villain. She feels like a genuine character who wants to save her kids from the financial problems that she's going through and is in the process blinded by it. I hope that Dhar Mann continues to go in this direction. Just because a character exists to serve a message it doesn't mean they can't have complex motivations and personalities.

Edit: Thank you for all the likes! Seeing them made my day and I really appreciate it! It's also incredible that Dhar Mann commented on this - thank you so much! Regarding the argument that is going on in the comments - I completely understand your points of view. While I personally believe the mom's concerns are viable, I agree that she doesn't deal with everything in the healthiest way, which I think was part of the message for this video. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion - and I definitely didn't want to start a fight. I hope I didn't offend anyone with this edit. Keep it civil, and have a nice day!

Honestly I support that one should always follow their dreams and passions, but here I definitely support the mom's views. Being on computers and gadgets the whole day, even during dinner time, and the parents had to pay for all their subscriptions and all, it doesn't look nice. At least have one proper meal with your family. They do so much for us, the least we can do is help them around the house and spend time with them. Plus they can focus on their dreams after they get their own job or something.

As a kid who’s addicted to technology, I agree with the mom ☠️

I agree with the mom “no electronics at the table.” It’s okay for kids to have dreams but I think in this video, the mother seemed to be right. Kids were right to a certain point, though

To be honest I’m on the mothers side.
Im perfectly fine with playing video games and my kids 14 and 11 do it all the time. But when you gotta eat or you need help around the house it’s frustrating when they are stuck on the screen and it’s as if there in there own world. Everyone has there own parenting methods. Your mother put you in this world, she can take you out of it too.

Moral of the story: Do what you're really passionate about but don't slack on your responsibilities. Balance it.

While I agree that kids shouldn't be on electronics 24/7, a balance needs to be found between being on electronics and taking a break from electronics. We do live in a time where pretty much everything can be done with electronics.

You know, technology is a really hard thing to do and use and the fact that these 3 were able to use it effectively and productively is so impressive and the mom just needs to follow their dream and goals.

12:45 I like how she doesn’t want to talk about electronics even though she brought it up in the first place

Most important is balance. Yes, the kids should have their electronics, but they gotta balance it up by spending quality time with family too.

I'm on both sides for this one. While I understand that we should support our kids' dreams, spending so much time playing video games every day that you can't even eat dinner together is unhealthy, and it seems like the mom has been dealing with this for a while. Besides, I've had things taken away for much longer than that and it's not like I'm the only one out there who can agree with that. It's also a tough situation with them all asking for money -- make your own if you want to use it for something like that. There are plenty of ways to make money in this world, even at such a young age.
