KATV coverage of the Arkansas secretary of state, who, on July 10th, rejected an effort to place a constitutional amendment to enshrine abortion rights on the November ballot due to organizers failing to submit some required paperwork.
Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin said, “As I have long said, changing the Arkansas Constitution involves a rigorous process, as it should, and it requires sponsors to adhere to all applicable laws and rules. In this instance, the sponsors failed to follow the law, specifically a simple and straightforward affidavit requirement that other ballot committees followed. Abortion advocates have no one to blame but themselves."
