This is the first tape Kurt gave to me. Sound quality is not perfect but it's not too bad. It is listenable. Paper cuts sounds a little warbaly at first and that is exactly how it was when Kurt gave it to me. I got used to it. It slowly becomes clear sounding.

Lets all take a moment to appreciate the fact that this tape was hand dubbed by Kurt himself for one of his friends. Awesome.

I bought the first "Outcesticide" bootleg around '97/'98..."If You Must" is the first song on it, i listened to that song like 10 times a day! It's one of my favorites, i never heard it before as there was no youtube and such back then so there was no way to hear the unreleased stuff...I was so f*ckin' happy to have that bootleg! This demo is their best work in my opinion 👌

Paper Cuts is still one of my favorite Nirvana track. So rhythmic with the tom drums and muted verse then it all crescendos with some of his best guttural screaming. Bleach is so underrated.

The deeper you dive into nirvana, the better the songs get.

The song "Aero Zeppelin", the part between 11:45 and 12:02 is just...fantastic! I record my own songs and in our community (where we talk about mixing, plugins, microphones, etc...) we talk so much about gear and recording/mixing techniques... Fortunately, more and more people realize that, if you have a great song and a great performance, people won't care about the sound quality! Here's a great example to show that gear doesn't matter: the song, the performance is king! And what a great performance!!!

When I think it'll almost be 30 years, in 2024 February 18th, since I saw them live at Le Summum, Grenoble, France. I was 14 years old and it was the very first show I ever went to. A birthday gift from my father, still the best gift I ever had so far in my life. 14 years old, half of Kurt's age at the time. And now I'm almost 44 years! Almost thrice! I tend to hate to get old but holy sh*t I'm so happy for having had the chance to live in a world when Kurt Cobain was among us! Listening to Nirvana since 1992, and it's very nowhere near stopping one day! The day it'll stop will be the one when death will come to get me. Thank you the Observer for sharing such a treat with us!

Yep... My sister got a copy of this from family friend when he was their roadie. She always made a big deal when she found in my walkman, but she never listened to it so whatever! I remembered being quite intrigued by all the grunting and snickering between tracks.

Kurt sounds like he's ripping apart his vocal cords on Paper Cuts. Pretty fuckin' awesome

It amazes me that he was able to write songs as good as Paper Cuts and Beeswax at this stage of his career.
