This is because, despite their twisted nature, dwarven bodies are resistant to magic. Even with their power granted to them, their bodies still rebel.

In chaos dwarves, this is manifested as their bodies slowly turning to stone, usually starting with the limbs and especially the legs.

Fun Facts:
Dawi-Zhar means "Fire Dwarves" in their tounge. They prefer you call them that over Chaos Dwarves because they aren't the biggest fan of chaos as a whole, just Hashut that has (somewhat) promised them protection from Chaos.

Hashut demands toil and sacrifices as he is the god of tyranny and industry. His smog and fore chokes the land. No one is safe. Greenskin, Man, Beast, Elf, Dawi, Undead, even Daemons are treated as commodities to the Fire Dwarves.

you missed a pretty important info I learned from a n old tabletop and total war player (and ex dev or qc) dwarves turn to stone when they use magic that's why one of them is in an exoskeleton his arms and legs are stone
