For reference, crypto is not legal tender in Russia. You may purchase it and trade it, but you cannot use it as a medium of payment. In other words, it is treated as securities rather than money under Russian law.

And by the way, a lot of the so-called "Russian women" scamming people online are, in fact, from Ukraine.

Respect for admitting that you went to Russia with preconceived ideas based on biased sources. The unfortunate part is you did not do any research with the many, many youtube channels showing the reality of visiting/living there. Portion sizes were small because you visited places.
In cafes, which locals sometimes use, the food is a bit cheaper and portions - larger.
But most of the time those cafes are some different cuisine, like Georgian, Uzbek, Chinese etc.
Because if Russian wants to eat russian food - he eats/cooks at home, lol.
Eat at school/university/work cafeterias is the other option.

I was in Russia 2 weeks ago, spent 2.5 weeks, REALLY sick of the US State department saying "Americans will be arrested in Russia", I was TREATED with Respect, dignity and no issues, I had one discussion with some Friendly (in a very good way) gentlemen when I traveled to Murmansk with my wife, they were curious about my visit and we told them family and we did the required registration without issue.

No issue entering or leaving the country, the Stupid girl from the WNBA deserved to be arrested, had she re-entered the USA with what she was carrying she would have been arrested, the soldier that was sentenced to 4 years, committed a Crime, STAY OUT OF TROUBLE and behave and you will be treated better in Russia than you can expect from american police...
