retired educator in the Daly River community south of Darwin in Australia's Northern Territory. She encouraged the Indigenous Land Corporation to join forces with The Nature Conservancy, Pew Charitable Trusts and the Australian government's National Reserve System to acquire the nearby 450,000-acre Fish River Station for eventual return to Aboriginal ownership and management. She continues to mentor Aboriginal teachers and students from her community.
