Nope always had a seniors... To me that's another important life phase. They become more relaxed sleep more and are more prone to be around you and just lay on your lap or quietly and calmly next to you in bed 😊

My kitty must be in a constant state of puberty as is easily described as rebellious, disobedient and does what she likes lol.
She’s a tiny Tonkinese ‘tyrant princess ‘ . She’s meowing impatiently at me this very moment because I’m not paying her attention 😅

I have noticed with our cats neutering or spaying extends their growing time since they never reach puberty. So they tend to stay on kitten food until we are sure they're done growing. Our cats tend to be fit and average between 10 to 15 lbs and are not obese or overweight. They see the vet on a regular basis for shots and physicals. Also we make sure that as a kitten they get a diet high in protein which encourages neurological development and produces "genius" cats. Not only are they easily trainable but also are willing to be trained. Our current cat Medb responds to over 20 verbal commands and hand gestures. She knows the difference between the words treats and catnip. Treats prompts her to mount her chair in the kitchen; when she hears catnip she goes to the sofa because the catnip plant is in the living room. Btw, I grow catnip for her since the fresh leaves help prevent hairball formation. When I offer her treats I give her the command "Say please." and she raises her right paw just like maneki neko the beckoning cat. The only foible Medb has is she's addicted to the laser spot. She knows where it's kept and will paw at the drawer when she wants to play.

I have adopted five female cats, two of those are turning 2 shortly. The one I rescued from the streets, still has lots of energy and quite often wants to socialize with the dogs. The other one, however, was given to me already expecting and it was only discovered after she got spayed. Even though both are the same age, the second of is much more mature and quiet.

My Ragdoll cat is falling apart, I find pieces of her everywhere!! There are hunks under the bed, on top of the bed, in between sheets, bottom of drapes, bathroom sink and just floating down the hall. Visitors usually take home a piece of her as well, she never seems to run out of stuff to leave behind❗️ 🌷🌷

I think medium and long hairs grow for longer. I got my domestic medium hair tabby at 3 months. He was 6.5 lbs at 5 months, got to 12 lbs at 1 year, then leveled out at 13.7 lbs and been that way for the past 3 years.

Also got a new kitten (Siberian) last month at 8 weeks and he was 1.25 lbs due to parasites. Now a month later he's almost 3 lbs.

There should also be a step for after adulthood called senority where they start to become slower and may need more check ups.

Cats ALWAYS do what they want. 😂😂 You can never get them to do what YOU want. I have always been a cat person. I love mine as if they were my children.

My kit is a Tonkinese. She is tiny compared to other cats. She’s an eternal kitten, playful, energetic and very very spoilt. I ♥️her sooo much.

I adopted a 6 mo, Burmese mix runt, I thought would stay on the small side, but he is now over a year old and is approximately 11-12 lbs, a beautiful, Kettlebell with paws and the size of his head increased in relation to his muscular body. 4 months later, I adopted a 2nd boy, 6 mo, Russian Blu/Tabby, the size of his head didn't change as much at 1 year, I thought he would be on the smaller size and perhaps I was overfeeding him, he is a bit stockier but, strong and active. They are on 10-10-80 raw, no free feeding, but I hate rationing him when he seems hungry.

There are a few breeds that are not adults for 2-4 years. The three most widely known are Maine Coons, Norwegian Forest Cats and Siberian Cats. I had a Maine Coon and a Norwegian Forest Cat. Didn't go into their first heats for two years and didn't begin filling out until 3 years for the Maine Coon and 4 for the Norwegian. People thought the Norwegian was still a kitten at three years old.

Having cats most of my life they usually stopped growing at 1 year. The last cat I had kept growing up until 2 years.
