I was born in Cuba, premature at that. I also had asthma. But I remember my grandmother praying to Shango and Yemaya. Somehow I was cured from my asthma. Doctors could not cure me, but my grandmother did.

I'm from Trinidad and we have a religion called Shango Baptist. They love their drums. I find that very interesting.. And I love the drums.. 🥁

In high school in the 90s and before I knew anything about Orisha, a beautiful sistah said to me “Shango “. I had no idea what this meant. As she began to introduced me to part of our black community that practiced & it started to reveal itself fully in my life, as my mama always taught & spoke about mother Africa, but just not in this detail. Shango’s Story and energy become very clear for me and called to me based on all the descriptions and characteristics I possess. I a was a two sport athlete? (Wrestling, football and outside of school was in martial arts for decades.) I had no idea I was a warrior in training. I was also a street kid and street kids learn to war and battle at an early age. My high school colors were red and white along with my own personal favorite colors. The street gang I was associate with primary color was red. I enlisted in the US Army as a 12Bravo (tabbed) SAPPER. My job is a tactical combat, noncommission officer and trainer. The Combat Engineers colors are red and white. I’m also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. Our colors are crimson and cream or for Non-Greeks red and white. I drummed during college, and I am passionate about the arts, and all of its forms of expression, including music development. I absolutely love and am passionate about women. Love the thought of love and sensuality and now as a seasoned Gentlemen is my primary preference. God has not created a more fascinating and beautiful species than the woman.I love the story of Shango. I love your energy in delivering the stories of Orisha. Please continue to be inspired and educate. Continue to counter the negative content on social media and the negative descriptions of African-Americans. You are the shining exemplar of beauty and black excellence, mixed in with an abundance of knowledge and intelligence.
