In Java, the substring method is used to extract a part of a string. It allows you to create a new string that contains a portion of the original string.

The substring Method
There are two main versions of the substring method in Java:

1. substring(int beginIndex):
Returns a new string that starts from the specified beginIndex and goes to the end of the original string.

Returns a new string that starts from the specified beginIndex and extends to endIndex - 1.The character at endIndex is not included.
