Capitol Theatre Melbourne (RMIT University)

The re-opening night of the RMIT Capitol Theatre Cinema, described in the 1960s by the leading architect and academic Robin Boyd as "the best cinema that was ever built or is ever likely to be built".

The Capitol was almost demolished, but in 2014 RMIT University set up a 5 year, $20M conservation project to restore and rejuvenate the Capitol.

It re-opened in 2019 and is now a teaching and event space used by the University and also available to hire by organisations for events.
