This animatic covers the first 6 sessions of Secret Life (the series was too long to fit into one animatic)

Gosh golly that was a journey wasn't it? This was once again such a massive 250+ hour project! Which hadn't originally been the plan but here we are! I'm super happy I can finally share this with you guys! I hope you enjoy!!

Thank you all so much for the support, without you guys I wouldn't have ever made a second Life Series animatic, let alone a fifth!!

Just a little info on future projects for those interested:

I had originally planned to make two shorter animatics, hence the cliffhanger. The second animatic is already planned out and half of the sketches have been done. However, this first animatic didn't end up being any less time intensive than any other projects and I finished it far later than I wanted to. With plans for a new Life Series on the horizon I'm still undecided if I commit to a part two Secret Life animatic, or wait to see if the new Life Series inspires me to make an animatic there. I don't want to perpetually be playing catchup.

On that note, I'll have to see if I'm inspired to make another animatic of the next Life Series. I wasn't as inspired in Secret Life as I've been for the other series and that made this project less enjoyable than the others so far. I still enjoyed it and am really happy with the end product, but we'll have to see what the future holds :D

I know a lot of you guys really enjoy and rewatch animatics and look forward to new ones whenever a new Life Series airs. I appreciate your support so much and I adore the community we've build here of the last almost three years! I wouldn't have continued making animatics after Who Are You Really if it hadn't been for the overwhelming love you guys have shown for my craft. I read every single one of your comments and appreciate every single one of you that takes the time out of your day to interact with a stranger's art on the internet.

But I also have to be honest and true to myself. If I spend hundreds of hours on projects that I'm not as passionate about, instead of investing my time in art I love and stories I truly want to tell, then that won't work for me in the long run.

Like I said, I might make a part two of Secret Life. I really like the song and the storyboard ideas. And I might continue to make Life Series animatics if the new series inspires me with it's stories. But I don't want to give false promises. Who knows what the future holds and what will inspire me to work on these massive projects. I can just hope you're interested enough in my art and storytelling that you'll stick along for the ride :D

This animatic had some of the best parallel imagery with the song ever!! So not only was it a banger choice it was also super relevant, here are just some of the ones I caught

0:48 "We got them now lets break them down a little bit more" the piglin corning Marytn, breaking his shield (and his will) while sending him to his death
0:54 - "Feed the machine" Not much else to say but great depiction on successes literally feeding the machine
0:56 "Bring them all back down to their knees" Joel falling down obviously (and dying) and this ones a stretch but looking at how desperate Grian was not to fail his task/take damage because of Joel I would also say Grian was on his knees in a metaphorical sense haha
1:02 "Aint gonna make it out alive today" RIP torchy
1:04 "Hey you poison the well" damage via poison from the bees
1:07 "Watch it all burn take them straight to hell" This ones very obvious with the burning of the egg
1:09 "Hes got the whole world in his hands" Bdubs' globe!! (technically he called it Mumbo's world which is very cute) I like that his arms are thrown up to give the illusion of him "holding" it
1:12 "It was nice to know ya, we've all been damned come on" Bit of a stretch again but Gem opening the portal did lead to a lot of death in an indirect way. A lot of "damning" if you will
1:28 "Nothing's going on, no need to fear" We love irony in this household. Scar dodging yellows trying to guess his task but being VERY afraid
1:33 "We're all in this together" Just the wholesome heartgivers of the server
1:39 "We want the same thing, this will all be over soon" Gem's task this session was to lie and for some reason she really wanted people to go to the end so technically Bdubs and Gem do want the same thing, just for different reasons. I love how its depected as "manipulative" with her whispering it in his ear just like how it is in the song
1:55 "We're all going to die" On the exact frame the dragon (AMAZING DRAGON) dies with the previous frames being Jimmy and Marytn dying (side note: Martyns death being intentionally hilarious will NOT make him happy hahahah)
2:01 "Bring them all down to their knees" A stretch but man does Cleo look POWERFUL in this. I'monmyknees. I mean what who said that?
2:04 "We aint gonna make it out alive today" RIP Mumbo
2:10 "Take em straight to hell" Literal. Grian skull farming in the nether
2:15 "It was nice to know ya, we've all been damned" The most tragic death of the life series, not only because it was the first but because the only reason Lizzie was there was because Joel asked her to help him kill Scott. She was damned the minute Joel asked.
2:34 "No time to waste" That wither chased Scar for a good 10 minutes
2:38 "We ain't gonna make it out alive today" Another few deaths, Mumbo's being final. I love the way Everen shows Warden deaths, they're so beautiful and dramatic (we ignore it was because of a fence)
2:50 "We've all been damned come on" This is just sinister. Technically all deaths and destruction are just the statues fault in a way and with the final shot of Gem as the boogey was the perfect way to end this

I probably missed some lines but oh well! Better excuse to watch the video again! Amazing work as always!!
