Marketplace Shanghai Bureau Chief Rob Schmitz is only the second reporter ever to gain access to visit the factory floor at Apple's Chinese producer Foxconn.

The factory works efficiently as the device moves down a conveyer belt, and although monotonous, the work is in high demand. People from all over China leave their villages in hopes of getting a job as a factory worker so they can send money home to their families. Working at Foxconn is heavily sought after, as the company is renown for its on-time payments and other on-site amenities, things that many factories in China cannot claim to have.

I was like damn, they make $14 an hour... I then thought to myself "no way" and replayed to hear "$14 a day."

Now I know why my iPad was so expensive ! Too many workers making way too much money. They need to halve the number of workers, halve their pay and double their working hours.
