Ryobi w/ honda GCV engine 'idle down' fix Cheap & Easy!

If your idle down feature fails on your ryobi GCV honda powered #pressurewashing machine breaks, this is a simple fix to get it going again and disables the idle down feature without the need to buy parts!

There was no hole to attach the spring to in my Ryobi - so I drilled one in the bracket. Now it runs at full pressure, no idle down and problem solved. Thank you!

Thank you for this. After taking apart and cleaning/lubing both the idler cable and unloader valve, i was still getting no pressure from the wand, stalling and surging motor. This fixed it!

I have been trying to troubleshoot my Ryobi pressure washer for weeks now. Cleaned the carb, etc. Was about to replace the idle linkage and came across your video. Did what you said and boom, works like a champ. Thanks so much for the tip!!

This also allows you to replace the oem pump with the idle down port (>$150) with the cheaper generic pumps off Amazon (<$60). I just did this after my original pump cracked after hundreds of hours of use.

Did you remove the cable that goes inside the pump also

Why is the idle down a bad thing in your opinion? Isn't it a "feature" and won't it save on gas and engine wear and tear? Or is it bad for the pump in some way? I'm trying to understand genuinely cause i got the same exact pressure washer for 85 bucks on offerup.

So, the spring is the same as the standard (non-idle-down) engines?

on mine it just kept rocking back and forth like revving the engine, , basically just do a full carb clean out ( as in take wire to clean out the upper and lower jets) it'll fix this pos washer

Then the engine won't go up while running...not good plus the governor will not work
