This is one of those videos we'll see on BBC Archive in 20 years and laugh at

AI is like a gun, neutral. Fear those who would misuse AI, not AI itself.

The problem is only some people will decide how AI should be used and they are the ones who profits at the expense of those who do not.

There isn't a single thing AI is capable of that we already weren't. If you think AI is evil, you should reflect on the fact that it is merely a mirror of ourselves.

This is fine for this year but please consider making this a yearly or quarterly series as it keeps accelerating and should be kept up with. ❤❤

Hello.
I'm a college student majoring in AI. But I don't have any professional knowledge.
I have learned a lot from the news! Basic common knowledge will make me brighter.

I hope that more AI video will be uploaded on BBC news. Thank you for always great videos!

Will be weird going back to this video in 30 years. We are about to go into an era, the first of a kind, where most people are unemployed.

BBC, like others, continues to confuse people by using the umbrella term "AI" instead of the many separate technologies under that overly-broad term. It also gets history wrong by saying "neural nets" have been around forever which while literally true, ignores that fact that most "AI" between 1940s-2000 was completely different, Logic Inferences based, systems rather than neural-nets. They could be taught a "fact" which today's language/multi-media models can not, hence the not-solved-anytime-soon problem of hallucinations.

It can’t think? Funny, among us researchers nobody questions the fact that it thinks. Answer the question what thinking exactly is & most modals will qualify as “thinking”. On who/which sources was this video based? @BBC News

AI is like a child that has no real world experience but has read a lot of books and articles online. It will believe whatever it read. And mix thing up for you.
It doesn't need to sleep and can read millions times faster than you. All Open AI and Microsoft does to keep it safe is like making some filter for the stuff they read.
And tell them what not to say before they go out and talk to people. But realistically, a kid will still do random stuff that you never understand, which can be good or bad.

AI is not a tool (passive instrument). It is an agent (active system)
