The ducks need at least like a tiny kiddie pool or some type of water source to clean themselves in. There are insulated bucket heaters and battery powered bucket heaters that work up to around -20. I hope the duckies have at least a little pool in there for Ducks need daily access to a good quality water source that they can fully submerge themselves in to perform all their water related behaviours, such as eating, preening, bathing, and swimming.

Bringing hot water outside will freeze faster than cold! Always bring cold water out rather than hot!
Look it up! I would have never have thought it but hot water freezes faster.
Or maybe look up insulated buckets for the chickens if you don’t have the heated water buckets to plug in.

My mom just got some chickens back in the fall she's got them a bucket heater you set the bucket on top it keeps the water dethawed. We are expecting our first snow tomorrow and alot for our area we are in the higher elevations of the Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas. We been preparing getting everything ready all week.
