Dollar Tree Sewing Challenge?? YES PLEASE!

I LOVE a good sewing challenge - even when I make it for myself! I really wanted to make a quilt using ALL Dollar Tree products and ONLY Dollar Tree products. The other week I went to my local Dollar Tree and was able to find everything - but I did have to get a little creative!

In my old age, I'm finding out that the budget quilts I make for my kids and grandkids and for myself, are often the most used and loved and comfy quilts! Plus it doesn't hurt my heart seeing my grandkids dragging their blankets all over the house! Your video is spot on...I can only imagine how soft and snuggly this quilt of yours is!

I’ve found that some of the dollar tree fat quarters are actually quilt quality fabric. Most are the solid colors but two of the prints I got from dollar tree I also found on the bolt at one of my favorite quilt stores. I also no longer donate clothing I don’t wear anymore. I either use them for doll clothes, bags or quilt fabric. I made a quilt out of jeans that I paid a for a dollar each for off a clearance rack at Walmart. Yes! I’ve made quilts and doll clothes out of clearance clothes!

I made a lap quilt a couple of years ago using only Dollar Tree fat quarters. I used some solids and a cute camper print and I keep this quilt in my camper to wrap around me while sitting by the campfire on chilly nights. It’s one of my favorite projects.
