Tom Petty, Damn the Torpedoes ... Stan Lynch playing Tama Imperialstars (I believe), with a 6.5" black beauty snare. Listen to "Don't Do Me Like That" - phenomenal drum sound / recording on this song (and that whole album). The toms in the first part of that song/recording are just perfect.

i love the challenge of tuning by ear ....since the drums usually need to be tuned before every session- and sometimes my hearing is off due to sinus- etc- .... it's like riding a wild mustang- every single time for me trying to get back in the sonic pocket

I love Dejohnette's tuning on the live from Japan with Dave Liebman, Wayne Shorter, Eddy Gomez and Richie Beirach...I had it on DVD back in the day, but you can find it on this here site now.

Was your lavalier mic the only microphone used to record the audio in this video?

If so, do you mind me asking which brand and model it is?

I'm looking to buy a decent lav mic to record my dialogue.
