It’s going to be a little bit later than originally scheduled but Emirates is set to receive its first Airbus A350 in October 2024. The airline had to postpone the aircraft’s entry into service due to delivery delays on the part of Airbus. The Dubai-based carrier had initially planned to start flying the Airbus twinjet as early as September 2024.

Nonetheless, for today’s video, let’s take a close examination of Emirates’ early plan for the Airbus A350, as well as the current status of its first jet.

I can see the A350-900 used on long, less busy routes on Emirates' network. They could be used to open other additional cities in the USA to Dubai.

Just flew their A380 business class and the experience was amazing. A big part of it was being able to go to the bar area and have drinks like you would at any bar/restaurant. Sadly doesnt look like any smaller planes are going to have that option.

The 3+3+3 configuration in the A350 economy cabin is a more comfortable experience than the high density 3+4+3 high density configuration chosen by most airlines for their B777 fleets (Singapore Airlines & JAL notable exceptions !)

We will be flying with an A380 next summer so I hope Emirates won’t change that. I love to fly the superjumbo once. After that I’d like to fly the A350.

Going into stiff competition with Qatar at Edinburgh who fly twice daily using 359s . Rumour has it they are switching to the 359-1000 variant.

The connectivity is what I'd appreciate most as a customer, and by that I mean the onboard wifi

Has RR fixed those engines for A350-1000? Considering the delay of B777X I think it was a mistake not ordering the A350-1000. They will have very old 777s in service before they get replacements.

Boeing 777 utilised this afternoon at Edinburgh instead of a 359.
I see Qatar has also switched its morning flight to a 788 but retains its afternoon flight as a 359.

From a simple fleet comprising only A380s and B777s a diverse mix comprising 4 models!
