There's now a new method where you 1 shot the ender dragon abusing the fact that arrows do more damage based on velocity. With some ender pearl trick (that I don't personally understand) you can 1 shot the ender dragon with 1 arrow.

you can place an end crystal before the dragon spawns in and it will just not spawn the dragon and the teleporter in the middle is enabled
