Singapore Travel Tips 2019: 11 Things to Know Before Visiting Singapore!
Just wanted to share a few things i learned during my time in Singapore. Some because i'd done proper research, others because i'd made mistakes and some others well... i guess i just wasn't lucky!

Links mentioned:
Entry in to Singapore / visa Requirements
For Australian passport holders, you only need a visa for business or tourism if your visit is over 90 days, so for my stay in Singapore, i didnt need to apply for a visa or anything - as long as i had a valid passport, i was good to go.

Tip: don't block the right side of escalator as it's a fast lane, especially peak hours.

And the people you see in Singapore, most of them are foreigners.

Tip: The tissue packet as a table holder might not be the only things Singaporeans use to "chope"(reserve) tables. Umbrellas, water bottles, and sometimes even business passes for office workers.
So to be safe try to pick an empty table or just pop a polite question if the seat is taken or not.

Hi Janice! I was the one who dispense the medication to you. Thank you for the compliment and good to know that the medication works for you! Take care! See you again!

There are clinics that open on weekends. You just need to google.

Great tips!! My son and I were in Singapore in August, we loved it there and hope to return soon!! Not a tip for Singapore specifically but just for travel in general, pack a little cosmetic pack with over the counter medicines from the Chemist. Things like Cold and Flu tablets, nasal decongestant, panadol, cream for insect bites, bandaids, tablets for gastro (both types ie. To stop the diarrhea and to stop stomach cramps), aspirin, anti-inflammatory etc. That way if you have a cold or get an upset tummy you've got the basics to get you by in case you can't get to a doctor/chemist. Also if you have the kit before you go it means not having to spend money in countries where medicines can be very expensive.

It's not true that all clinics are closed on Sundays. The ones near your hostel may be closed but there are plenty in the neighborhoods that are open during the day on weekends. Consultation + medications for cough/flu/fever should be around a third of what you paid at Raffles.

As a Singaporean, I've seen some tourists struggle to get around the country and they're unsure about certain things about Singapore. So, I think that this is a really helpful video for tourists coming down to Singapore. The locals are really nice and they'll try to help everyone as much as they can. Well, I hope you had a great time in Singapore ❤️🇸🇬

GST is currently 7%. The 10% you pay is the service charge imposed by the restaurant.

Correction, most restaurants charge a 10% service charge and a 7% goods and services tax.(GST). Not all private clinics in Singapore are closed one weekends. They are some who are open on weekends and even public holidays. These clinics are mostly in the heartlands residential areas in the HDB (Housing and Development) areas. The charges varies from $30 plus to around $50 for tourists and locals alike. You can save up to a $100 or more compared to a hospital.

Awesome that it's really English friendly! I always get intimidated by being in a foreign place where I don't know the language at all 😰

I am impressed. When I first click into your video, I was expecting to see another "Sell Singapore" one. But then as I watch on, I realized it stands out with the clear, concise way in which you presented the clip, coupled with your humble charm & honesty. Well done!!

When I saw the cover, I knew must be our ‘chope’ culture in Singapore.

Do try ice-cream in Singapore, where those uncle in the street with gigantic umbrella and bike. They serve big piece of ice cream with bread or waffles biscuits...

Tissue is to “chop” the seats so that we can get back with our food and our seat is not occupied by others
Going to a polyclinic will be much cheaper than hospital, but longer waiting time.
The buses is actually cheaper than mrt so taking bus is a better option and most of the shopping malls and attractions has bus stop which sometimes nearer than mrt stations

There is a free Singapore tour booth in Changi Airport if you're transitting for atleast 8 hours (if I'm not wrong, could be more than 8h).

You can lookout for the booth in the transit area of changi airport or just ask the information counter.

The tour will bring you on a tour bus around Singapore to some tourist attraction. Pretty good deal 😁
