Everything boils down to what we truly want in life and we need to appreciate others for choosing a way of life that suits them. Our mind creates a gratifying illusion of our memories from the past, so we need to keep realistic expectations of how our life is going to be after the move :) I saw a comment in which it was mentioned that relatives are not immortal. This cracked me up because, elderly people would have been gone, but siblings and cousins of our age will still be there in our old age. Moreover, isn't the fact that nobody is immortal the reason why we need to make the most of our time with them, rather than saying nobody is going to live forever? Coming to the part where kids future is important and being so selflessly striving for them, as the generations progress, the amount of responsibility kids take up towards their parents declines in the name of individuality. Our parents did more to their parents than what we are doing to our parents now and the same situation occurs in the future to us. If we sacrifice all of our simple pleasures, when we get older we will be left with a bag full of regrets. When we are not emotionally connected to family, we should not also expect our kids to move mountains for us in the future :) I know life in India is not easy, especially without good savings and security issues are a concern for everyone. If you can afford to live in a good community and be a little extra cautious then life in India will be more fulfilling than what you get abroad.

Surprised how this video doesn't have many views. Every word is absolutely true.

What I would say is when you are young like 23 24 move outside and stay for like 15 to 20 years make some money then move back to India when U have enough savings to buy nice house car and stuff in India and just save enough to retire soon.. then start exploring and enjoying Ur life.. instead of working working working in India for 60 years then U don't have energy to explore or enjoy since half of energy U will lose in traffic and pollution.. this is my honest opinion to young people out there.. and this is what we are doing..we visit our family 2 times in a year since we live in Australia so they or we don't miss each other a lot🤗

Hats off to you taking such a bold decision. I believe money is important be it India or any other country but life is precious and people around you’re for certain time.

Living in US for last 12 years I echo what you are saying. A bit correction - You mentioned schools are free in US. Its not the case always, if one buys a house in US he needs to pay $900 per month as School taxes. Moreover kids do not have luxury of going for swimming, martial arts, sports etc without shelling $250 per month for just 8 classes. I remember while in Kendriya Vidyalaya I used to go for region level debates, extempore, youth parliament, science exhibitions etc. But here its rare to find public schools with such facilities. Anyway God bless you for such video, bottom line is in your statement "Let's make India a better place than anywhere else" . Jai Hind

i think infrastructure is the biggest factor. In US, if you plan to go to point A to B within certain frame, you will certainly make it. But social life is completely gone. Everybody is working their butt off to make thing going. I completely agree USA or any European country personal life is mess.

As an Indian living in the US, this boils down to what you said at the start the sense of belonging. India is good if you have the social network and connections along with the financial support. If you don't have those then you tend to immigrate. This is seen throughout the history of humans. My family left India when our financial and family situation got worse. My dad still has a sense of belonging to India but he can't justify his belonging after being mistreated by his family in India. I think if the financial situation was better my dad would have never agreed to move to the USA. My perspective I never had a strong connection with family so I would have left India regardless. I do finally feel a sense of belonging in the USA now after few years of acclimation.

Hi, I have worked in USA and UK as software engineer and finally got my Australian PR and settled in Melbourne. If you are an extremely social person/couple who cannot live without family/friends in India, then go to India … there are high paying jobs now and you will live a good life. Me on the other hand love living abroad cause of freedom, cars that I drive, the houses we live in, fresh air and good infrastructure. But I guess I will move to India later on in life because of Amazing healthcare in India (yes, I mean it). And because of aging parents, we have to move to support them.

Very well said! especially, 'Let's make India great'. We need to speak proudly about our nation at home for our kids to imbibe that little bit of patriotism, at least. And, Bharat Desh is progressing big time.

I must say Sir this was a direct and emotional appeal. I was struck by your honesty. It was important for me to hear this. Leaving US is more difficult decision. And I admire your clarity.

Folks living in india is not as glorified as it is made to appear especially in metro cities . I live in Bsngalore . House help is becoming increasingly difficult resource. Because of dust and other living style we are extremely dependent on them. They frustrate you to no end beciz of lack of sincerity and commitment. As far as social life goes I feel people in USA have better social life than in Indian metro cities . Poor traffic laws, clogged roads and poor infrastructure restricts you severely. Neighbours hardly know each other or interact with each other. So, guys do your homework before you decide to come back. Don't put your kids into trouble . If they have citizenship you would definitely want them to go back for higher education when the whole india is flocking there . Your relatives here are not immortal. You will be left lonely in old age while your kids wd have gone back. Don't mess up your kids life . This I am speaking out of my siblings experience, who moved to USA 3 decades back . Some came back, some came and went back and one person is on her way back to UK becoz now her only child is going to UK for studies. Your social life in jndia and your relatives here are not permanent fixture but your kids are .

That's a great video. We are living in the US for the last 5 years and planning to go back to India in the next couple of years. However, I feel that the US H1B visa (and later Green Card) is quicksand and the more you stay here, the more you drown in this, and it becomes more and more difficult to come out of it. If you can share your entire process of moving from the US back to India, that would certainly help people like me who are planning to move back. Thanks again for this video and god bless you!

Hey Pawan, the most important topic to touch upon (which is often ignored) is the impact on mental health due to the weather and light. Issues like anxiety and depression which take a toll on a lot of people.

After listening your speech, I can analyse few things about you

1. You can not live without
2. You do not prefer to live within boundaries. In US, they make you live with rules, however in India, you get more freedom. This is what you like.

I live here in USA and yes, I sometimes think about moving back to India. But air, water and food quality is much more better here in USA. Your video was informative . Thanks.
