I’m in Rome right now, and my tour guide told us how to tell if gelato is real (processed) or not. If it’s in big piles on top of each other in the container then it’s fake. If it’s smooth with usually like little ruffles it’s real. Hope this helps!

If you visit Canada I think somewhere in BC Vancouver there’s a gelato place called Bellagelateria they are like one of my favorite gelato places🍨

One tip i learnt is authentic quality places will allegedly keep they gelato covered up if you go to a place where it's piled sky high and is uncovered probably means the place is a tourist trap is not authentic and is probably mass produced

If you ever go back to Massachusetts you need to try Dolce Freddo Gelato in Methuen! It has gotten some awards for best gelato before and it’s my favorite place for ice cream!

As an italian who lives in milan but visited many of those places, terra is definitely not up there with other gelato shops in milan such as Rivareno, Venchi, Anthologia del gelato, and Gelabottega. Terra is simply the most visited by tourists (so reviews are slightly exaggerated) since its not far from the city centre.

You need to try Mokambo in Ruvi di Puglia and La Gelateria in Firenze.
