What is the Roster Method? (Roster Form) | Set Theory, Writing Sets, Expressing Sets

The roster method is one of several set notations you can use to write a set. It is perhaps the easiest understand, but is only useful for writing out sets when they are finite and small in size, or if they are dictated by an easy to describe pattern (that is finite or infinite). If you are asked to list the elements of the set for any particular set, that is using the roster method. The roster form of a set is simply listing the elements of the set between brackets. Ellipsis are permitted to indicate an ongoing pattern. I hope that after this lesson you can write out a set using the roster method.
