"Why would you feel scared, AM I SCARY?!"
They really have no idea about how much their (dis)approval means to us huh 🥺 thankfully this mom is wellmeaning, everyone deserves an understanding mom like this, their enthusiasm, while uncomfortable, is adorable❤️

I came out to my parents when I was 18, they “accepted” me. And now every time I casually mention something about thinking someone of the same sex is gorgeous or my celebrity crush, they always look at me funny and force me to re-come out to them. And they always brush me off. I hate my parents. They claim that they love me unconditionally, but there seem to be a lot of conditions to their love.

Honestly I wish my mom reacted like this. I tried telling her and shes said, "Honey, this is all just a phase. Wait 'till next year. You'll be over it by then." She said that in 2019. .-.

My kiddo came to me and their step dad to tell me they're non binary, had a whole big speech and everything. Our reaction was "so use they/them? Done deal. Instead of calling you our son/daughter call you our child? Sounds like a plan. Want to change your name? Just let us know. We love you Rockstar." Just that easy. When they said they were scared to tell us we just asked why and what we could do to make them more comfortable with telling us things in the future. I'm baffled some parents can't figure that out. If anyone needs a mom I'm here always.

When I broke down in tears and told my mum I was trans, she just carried on playing fetch with the dog and said “what you gonna do about that then?”

No reaction is hard too.

Dad said he was fine with it, then called me a f**king snowflake a few months later when I asked to be called by a different pronoun

When I told my mother I started crying and she just said: “it’s a fase you are either lesbian or straight it’s probably that you just like their physic not their inside, you’ll grow and realize that being bi is just a fase, a trend. Now stop saying that kind of stuff and try not to disappoint us” I couldn’t talk to her or my father for months.

one of my friends came out to her parents a while back, and they said she was too young to know. i felt so bad, i wish all parents were as supportive as this :(

My mom was just like, "yeah, ok, so what? So am I." And that's how I cane out to my mom and learned she was bi.
On the other hand, my dad almost started crying and gave a speech that was at least 30 minutes long about how glad he was I trusted him enough to tell him and we had a good relationship. I appreciated the support but it seemed like a bit much, especially in comparison to my mom's reaction lol.

I was actually scared more about my mom rather than my dad, I told her first and she was really upset. So for a few years I decided not to tell my dad cause I just couldn’t handle my dad or both of my parents being mad at me. I think I’m gonna tell him soon tho. Wish me luck!

My girlfriend told her parents she trans and they’re really mad they’re abusing her and stuff AND HER DAD SAID THIS “ YOU CAN WEAR A DRESS TO SCHOOL BUT YOULL BE TEASED WITHOUT MERCY ANDNUR GRANDPA UNCLE WILL HAVE A HEART ATTACK BECAUSE THEY THINK YOUR NORMAL (deadname!)” she’s trying to get out and I’m doing my best to help🥲🥲 she called a youth center for abused teens but couldnt leave her house I’m scared for her and I cried last night cuz my mom took my phone 🥲🥲

I really wish my mom reacted like this tbf. I mean, when I told my mom I was bisexual she wasn’t like against it, she wasn’t overly sarcastic, nor did she completely deny it. WHICH i am very lucky to get because she is incredibly Christian and I am to. Just a little less then her atm. This would be great though

Woop I kinda told my mom but like in a joking way so that if she doesn’t really react too bad about it then I will tell her. Lemme explain a whole story, My family and me are religious and we can’t be lgbtq+ but like you can be gay without doing something with it like kinda lonely tho- but anyways I’m Bi so as long as I find a guy and don’t fall in love w a girl its gonna be okay, problem is: I’m in love with a girl- ahahhaha welp…

This is how I felt when I came out and my mom was so accepting and she talked to my dad about it so that I didn't have to lol it took me so long to come out to my family but now that I did they are all so supportive and I'm lucky to have such a amazing family 💗
