Inside A $60k Sleekly Renovated 5-Room HDB + EastGlen @ Canberra Tour

Canberra probably doesn't inspire much excitement in you considering how new the neighbourhood in Sembawang is. Yet, it’s this newness that actually makes this pretty exciting! Termed a “Ghost Town” by Rice Media in a recently published article, Canberra is an up-and-coming neighbourhood that saw an MRT as well as a shopping mall (Canberra Plaza) built in recent years, breathing new life into the area.

In this week’s Insider Tour, we check out EastGlen @ Canberra, an HDB that recently TOP-ed to check out what it offers residents here. There are only 310 units in total with a healthy mix of 3 to 5-room flats - pretty exclusive by HDB standards. It also boasts a carpark rooftop garden as well as a childcare centre. While it doesn’t have its own commercial outlets, it is close to an eating house as well as a Sheng Siong Supermarket just a few minutes away by foot.

We also have the privilege of checking out what a 5-room flat here looks like, so be sure to stay on to check out the flat!

Special thanks to the homeowners for allowing us into their beautiful home!

The home is not my style personally but so sleek and clean, well done to the ID firm. As usual, Juliana is great!

Nice detailed presentation. Love the coverage on not just the unit itself but the amenities as well.

This house feels more like a condo than many condo units out there.

I just noticed that the shoe cabinet door has a laminate air bulge at 7:47. Is there anyway to get rid of that?

Wow the community is really well planned. And to hear the drawbacks she mentions at the end of the video...I could only wish I had those issues here in Toronto. Over here, condos are built to make money and no thought is given to quality of life

The TV always betrays the camera and lense tricks that make rooms seem bigger. Ain't no TV that wide... the shot is distorted and the room is way smaller than it looks here.

Please control the open burning joss paper and candles. Many people living in hdb are suffering silently because we were told to be sensitive to others' religion. But does that mean we have to suffer silently for years to accommodate your culture that doesn't care about your neighbour? During chinese new year and hungry ghost festival, we will get sore throat because of the smokes from these open burning. Sometimes my whole family were awaken by heavy smokes at 3 a.m because our home was filled with smoke. Who dictate all these joss paper/candles must be burn right below the hdb? Is it possible to burn all these items in your nearest temple without affecting any of your neighbour. Your consideration is much appreciated.
