Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2016 (before he became UFC lightweight champion) saying he was ready to FIGHT GSP and how it would be better for his LEGACY than a fight with Conor McGregor.

I can tell the folks in the comment section are new to this UFC thing. Khabib knew full well a fight with GSP at anything but 155 would spell disaster. He said himself and I quote "Not 170 with George please." He wanted none of that at 170.
Khabib is a smart man. He knows his usual maul strategy would not work against GSP. George has a fantastic take down defense and not only that people still to this day sleep on how good of a grappler and wrestler GSP himself is. On top of that GSP had one of the best jabs ever and he could kick and he knew how to control distance.
Khabib would have his hands full and he knows it. He never denied it either. GSP would have given Khabib a challenge like he never, ever had before. It would be no walk in the park. Had they fought Khabib would have found himself in the toughest fight in his career.

I respect khabib but why he doesn’t want to adjust to different weight class I mean GSP is older and he has been switching weights when he was competing. It’s a lose lose for GSP he will come back from his couch + he is older to cut weight to 155. I mean give him some options man😂
