The quote from the developer exactly summarised my thoughts on the game too. The reason the game is so unfulfilling is you get punished for playing well (tackles bouncing back through to striker) and create chances which should be goals but aren't, only to score the rebound which diminishes all the skill of the buildup.
I think it should be easy to make the game better, but EA actually don't want a better game because that would drive people away after they realise the AI was doing all the work for them and they are actually really bad at FC.

I've finished the season more than a week ago, and finished my DIv5 rival points yesterday, there is absolutely nothing to do on the game, nothing to grind, opening packs is pintless cuz you can't pack any promo or icons, so what incentive do I have to play this game?

When it comes to game devs, i think the eafc ones are really lacking. Look at the lead dev on teamfight tactics, he does his job perfectly in my opinion. Whenever they drop a patch he releases a 45 ish minutes video together with someone else from the team where they go through every change in depth and explains why they've done the change and how it'll impact the game. He also communicates very openly about when and what is going to get patched. On top of this he streams the game in his free time simply because he enjoys it and you can just see that his knowledge of the game is on another level even compared to pros. Compared to this, the ones we've seen from the EA team is either that guy on twitter you interacted with that doesn't even play fut champs or the guy that does those streams before each promo drop, and I've seen him play in those, he is not very good at the game. My feeling is that they don't understand the game well enough to do whatever needs to be done simply because they don't enjoy playing their own game.
