The canals are not being looked after properly. There was a leak in the Macclesfield canal earlier last year which caused a mini whirlpool to form near Bollington. the section of canal had to be drained and a temporary fix was made but nothing done since.
The Macclesfield canal is part of the Cheshire ring. With the Bridgewater canal out of action and now the Macclesfield canal it is extremely difficult for boats to travel North/South beyond Cheshire.
Great video - keep them coming!

Could this possibly be a sign of the Crumbling of The Once Most Powerful Nation on the globe?🤔
(nice to see this NEW and rare News Coverage for a change of pace)

And this is why I became a member of your channel!
You really do go the extra mile for content.
I was so impressed with all your hard work during the "riots" and you cover things that you would never see anywhere else.
Your drone footage is always stunning.
Thanks Dan, you are a legend!

The canals seem to be lacking any care at all these days! Great video :)

That culvert you can see taking the water away, goes under the canal, it was leaking 6 months ago and they made a temporary repair, which has now failed.

You got to Macclesfield quick that bike is amazing . There doesn’t seem to be a rush to fix it 🤔

Wow, a canal breach is certainly a dramatic event, and capturing it through drone footage must provide an incredible perspective on the extent of the damage. It's fascinating to think about how drones can offer such detailed views that aren't possible from the ground. I'm curious about how close you were able to get to the breach with the drone and what kind of challenges you faced while filming. Also, with such a significant event, how do you balance capturing the footage safely while ensuring the drone remains steady, especially in potentially windy conditions? It's always impressive to see technology being used in such impactful ways! ????

I used to walk the multiple canals in Middlewich. Lots of dodgy subsidence concerns when buying properties in that area due to the salt mining.

A good dredging and silt removal, some nice banks put in with pathways upgrade 😊❤

Did you know you can mute the volume on the controller? Might come in handy during filming. I just thought I'd mention it in case you wasn't aware.

That breach looks like a bodged past repair job to me. Thanks for close up video Dan. Kindest regards Peter

It look’s like water has been passing through the bank to the field for years, and creating a sink hole.

Thank you so much for this. I'm heading down that way now waiting in Romiley. I was waiting for an update Monday from the CRT but it looks like I'm stuck in the north this summer. Will turn around and go to York.

Is it me or has there been a lot of things lately happening which seems to reflect on social activities being or being tried to stop. Pubs with price rises stops people socializing, 2nd canal breech within 6 months. Cost of motoring going up to a point people are getting rid of there vehicles.
It just seems that since the plandemic everything or anything we enjoy has been tried to be curbed.🤔

at 9:13 you can see that the sheet pile is not driven deep enough the water simply flowed under it sheet pile should always be driven at least two meters deeper than the deepest part of the water so this is certainly three to four meters too short. a matter of saving money I think
