I just got one not that long ago and it works great. The first day it came I was so excited I took it outside and drank from a old mud puddle. The water from the filter was better than my city tap water. For curiosity sake I went to a Walmart and got a water tester the water from the survivor filter tested cleaner than my city tap water. Just wanted to let everyone know that this product is great. God bless and stay safe.

I was going to review this a couple months back but I found out renovo had the same item marketed under their brand. SF claims it's their design anyways either way it's a good product.

nice filter, but... i have concerns about chemicals/pesticides. will it handle those? i live in somewhat rural/suburban PA and the turf between work & home is farmland. i would put this filter in what i've heard called a 'get-home bag' (i like that term too) so the farm chems along with automobile leaks (oil/gasoline/diesel) from rain run-off on raods is a concern. of course all the nasty living critters matter too.

Sounds good. Very fine micron filtering. Just not so sure about heavy metals and that's a worry here in Arizona. So far I've relied on my Berkey bottle for that. Also have a Sawyer Mini

Noticed the water bottle didn't suck the water back out with the opposite pressure. That's a good thing right. But how would one emty the remaining water from filter after use?? Just wondering. Thx great video as always.

looks like a god filter, i love my sawyer mini, it is very hard to beat the sawyer mini. It last a lifetime altho it doesnot have a charcoal filter, so that one is something to look in to. Well done.

Nice review! Been using a Trio for almost a year now. Works great. Like that it removes more stuff than most, yet doesn't break the bank. Can taste the difference between water filtered with the Trio and water from the same source just boiled. I use 1L bottles and sit on it or lean against a tree with it in between. Does not take long to fill a 1qt Nalgene that way. Bought the stuff for a gravity setup but haven't assembled and tested it yet. 1/4" silicone tubing such as some hammock supply stores sell does fit both ends perfectly. Cheers!

If you get the opportunity, Try the SURVIVOR FILTER® PRO. I will be getting one soon. It is a pump style that goes to 0.01 Microns, And it is great for filling from the water source quick. It looks like a good pump system for like a hiking camp where the personal filter is just that. A quick drink for personal use. Ideally, I would like to have both.

How do you feel about it now after 6 years? Did it hold up good? Do you think it compares to grayl just without the ability to hold clean water?
