Top 10 Electric 50-MPH Bikes w/ Pedals of Today: Should Bicycles be So Fast?

Even though we can choose between dozens of available types of innovative, personal transport, bicycles remain popular and are still being used by millions of riders in Europe, Asian countries, India, as well as North America. These two-wheeled commuters are still chosen for their reliability, low buying price and ease of use.

Despite having a simple mechanical principle in its operation, modern bicycles are significantly different from those used even a couple of years ago. The latest innovations in the sphere of powertrain development enabled bicycles to rely not just on the power of pedaling but also on advanced electric motor systems that are controlled by smart applications. These applications analyze your riding preferences and extract the exact amount of electricity from the battery needed to make your ride fast and enjoyable.

As EV technology is getting better, we start seeing electric motors becoming smaller, more powerful and setting record breaking horsepower yields. Some of the models that are to be available in late 2021 - early 2022 can already compete with many mopeds and some motorcycles in terms of performance (despite being equipped with pedals and looking like regular all-terrain bicycles).

Today we decided to make an overview of the fastest ebikes that are available today; our list includes models that are capable of reaching 50 miles per hour, have rugged tires capable of sustaining such speeds, upgraded brakes and suspensions that will let you ride comfortably. Our list includes all important information, prices and general data that will make you understand if these two-wheelers are worth it and whether they should be allowed to be this powerful.

For efficient peddling that won’t destroy your knees the seat has to be height adjustable so you can stretch out your legs. Most of these bikes look like they’d be fun under power, but would be very difficult to pedal.

Most of these bikes are really expensive. One bike cost $13k. I could buy a electric motorcycle instead of buying motorcycle looking bike. I also noticed that most of those e-bikes look like they are made for tall people

I didn't realize my Aostirmotor 1500W S17 was identical electronically to the DELFAST.
That explains its 50 mph performance.

Good video! So many choices. I went with the CAB Motorworks Eagle model out of Huntington Beach CA and I get it soon. Yes, expensive but compared to the price of an off road motorcycle or ATV which is what bikes with these features compete with ... its a bargain and more versatile.

They are awsome and are the future.
Expensive andi not legal in UK so its gonna be difficult ....
I converted a bike to an ebike for £300 which is really fun and still looks like a push bike ..

Great video, Thanks! Cost, speed and range are the consumers' first concern. 2nd is environmental impact. With 85% of all electricity coming from petro-fired power plants and the remainder depending on nuclear, an expensive and dangerous way to boil water... And windmill generators whose carbon footprint in the mfg of the blades alone outweighs the savings ever produced by the generator, Zero point energy is the only way elec vehicles will win, ie, IF the ICC ever releases that technology... The elec grid at this time can't handle summer air conditioning. What happens when everyone starts charging EV's?

No way in hell will this bike make it 200 miles using the motor. My best riding partner gets just over 40 miles at normal speed limits within the city. All down hill using pedals only is the only way that you could get 200 mi out of the Delfast.

Delfast 3.0 amazing piece of equipment nominated to be number one on the market the only in the biggest problem is customer service! Customer service is all all via email… because of the different time zones and because customer service is not great at all, unless you’re making a purchase of course.! Why is it that the US is charging almost the same amount of money for half the performance some not even close to half of the performance of the DelFast 3.0….? Honestly you guys want to charge as much money as the Ukraine creation for performance that’s not worth the money

Yes they should be this fast. But the pedals need to fold back and give them pegs like a motorcycle that fold away when using the pedals...

Going over 40 plus should be with 4 or 3 inch fat tires for stability especially going 50 riding over a hidden bump formed like a mini ramp will send bike a bit of air time and have to be very firmed grip or hold on bike and the thickness of tires of 4 inches gives you that safety net so if u not wearing motorcycle helmet, you should not ride until you get one. Everyone fall, slide, tire edge wipe outs and the worst besides cars is riding over hidden or not seen bump mini ramp will get air and that helmet will keep head from a freak speed fast moment airborne moment.

In most parts of the world electric bicycles are allowed to have the output limited to just 250Watts. Consequently, all of the models shown here can only be used in offroad conditions or after obtaining the required paperwork (the main reason is that they can have up to 20Kw of output). Should bicycles be this fast or 250Watts is enough for regular consumers? Share your thoughts below!
