I blame our education leaders not the students.
How can you place children in underfunded schools and expect them to do well In Terminal exams.
The math Principles are not taught well and English is not well taught in Schools nowadays.
Even Journalists do not use the English Language very well within our settings.
I am totally horrified by the standards of Mathematics within the nation of Ghana.

Decline in English exams results? Blame rap artists. Proper English can be learnt not only from books and in classrooms, but in music and in literature as well. Musicians can make good music in either proper English or in any of our local languages. When students listen to music sang in Proper English, they learn as well. The "broken" English our musicians introduced into our culture is mostly to blame. Until our musicians learn themselves to sing in proper English, this trend would continue for a very long time!
The second aspect is the lack of libraries not only in schools but in our communities.The community libraries we had in the past should be re-introduced. And of course influence from our neighbors. Theirs is "pidgin", our kids learnt it on the streets and obviously took it to the classroom.
