One of my greatest experiences as a young person was living next door to Dr. & Mrs. Cord, the son of the Mr Cord who invented, created & started Cord Motors. I was born a total car nut & as a girl was not given as many opportunities to drive the Creme d’ la Cream of the rare beautiful historical cars as I would have liked until I met Dr. Cord.❤ One day he came he came over to the driveway area next to his driveway where I was washing my 2 year old VW Bug. He called out to me, “Hey, Nancy, I hear you’e been admiring my custom car!” I could barely hear him over my car’s radio & the nozzle on the hose, but I nodded & smiled a big smile. Next thing I knew a navy blue sweat shirt w/ white letters & a set of keys on a custom fob came flying at me. I caught the sweatshirt w/ 1 hand & the keys w/ the other. The back of the sweatshirt said, “Cord Racing Team” & my 1st name & Driver underneath on the front. The keys were to the car, his garage & indoor pool w/ my name, etc.where it could be easily seen if I needed to show I.D. at any time.
And that, was the beginning of another wonderful chapter of my life long romance with all things movable, ridable, drivable, flyable, etc.

Been to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in Auburn Indiana sev times over the yrs. The Cords are my favorite of the 3. Just a beautiful automobile.

I know a little about these cars; notably the '29 L29 was the first front wheel drive car produced. When I saw you cranking, I thought it was too small for the window, but when it showed the pop up headlights, I was in love 💕💞
