Hope in Greek is “elpida” - it means assurance; knowing; confidence; expectation… it’s not at all wishy-washy; It IS certain. Not at all like the English meaning.

The only fear you smell is your own - we all die, and when we do it is all over for us. Those not deluded by religion know this - those who adopt the fabled, primitive, ignorant faiths of old are scared shitless by death - so they hope for eternity.
