New comet NEOWISE brightens early morning sky

Early risers are in luck this week, when the comet dubbed NEOWISE is bright enough to be seen with binoculars. Mike Armstrong reports on what many are calling the most impressive comet in years.

Flew a 787 from Honolulu to DFW this morning, I knew nothing about this. Right about the time we passed Vegas there was no mistaking what we were looking at. I don’t think anyone could have had a better seat. It was incredible!!

I saw it over the Texas Mexico border last night and didn’t know what it was at first. It looked like a gigantic firework last night but obviously never blew up. It was so bright it casted light on the ground around us. I’ve never seen anything like it and my video does not even slightly compare to what you can see with the naked eye.

That pictures are highly processed. It actually looks very faint. It's true you can see it with the naked eye, but you really have to focus, otherwise you might think it's just some kind of a small cloud or some mist.
