Workers and residents took to Hamilton streets today for the annual Labour Day parade.

The parade started at Bay Street North and Stuart Street and ended with a picnic.

This is the first in-person gathering for the Labour Day parade since the pandemic began and hundreds of workers and residents have come together at Bayfront park to celebrate.

There was live music and lots of food. Unions, organizations, politicians and candidates joined the event.

Federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh was in Hamilton today to support the workers.

“One of the specific contributors to inflation going up, the cost of living going up, the cost of groceries going up is corporate greed,” Singh said.

Living wages and better working conditions are among the changes the workers want to see.
