Ice barrier is something I been cooking up too! I been liking medium of the ice barrier over warlock as it doesn't need another ice barrier to floodgate and is harder to run over. Also a few cards to consider if you haven't already:
Fishborg harpooner is a great extender from the hand to summon another ice barrier after normal has been interrupted.
Silent sea nettle is can be interesting too, and can shuffle back synchros for later turns but this is something i'm still testing atm.
Graydle Dragon is absurd because of mirror magic master as it can pop 4!
