So I've installed a WordPress with a simple demo theme and ran it through GTMetrix. The results - this site fully loaded in 1.4 seconds. Compared to the industry standard, IONOS' performance is on the better side. Beating out Bluehost and HostGator but still falling short of Hostinger's blazing servers.

Moreover, when we take a look at the security package, it's not bad at all. Every shared web hosting plan has a free SSL certificate and DDoS protection. But that IONOS SSL certificate isn't just a bare minimum Let's Encrypt stuff, these are Wildcard certificates that encrypt not only your main domain but all subdomains as well. With the Expert plan, you also get a malware site scanner. It's a good tool, and while you can get similar protection from WordPress plugins, this gives a bit more server-side security.

I will give a big point here just for having daily backups of your content. So, Is IONOS hosting good? While I can't say it's the best web hosting, it has good performance, an ok dashboard, and lots of resources. However, I would recommend it for those who want to host multiple websites, you'll get the best bang for your buck.

IONOS is TERRIBLE. I had a simple html site of my house remodel and they kept charging me for "out-of-date" PHP support. I would log into my account and click update PHP and get confirmation that it had updated and I would still be invoiced for the out-of-date PHP. Got tired of fighting with them about it. Moved my hosting and recommend you RUN away from IONOS - don't even consider them.

Was great 5 years ago, they went on the cheap, for sure. Waiting times is extremely long, Because they are in eastern US they close the security department at 2:00 pm Pacific time. If your site have a vulnerability, and they will shut it down. You can only text or email security even if your problem is complex you can not talk on the phone.

Ionos is Absolutely rubbish, I just moved my websites back to my old hosting after just over 1 years.

You echoed a lot of their sales and marketing, but users are looking for something a little more in-depth. The "$1/month" is only for the first year - it's a bait-and-switch and unless I missed it you never even mentioned that.

Also ionos does not support external SSL and CPanel - these will make it so you will have to pay extra for multiple websites.

not intuitive for beginners, charged twice in a week so their discount price was no longer a discount and their customer service is lacking! definitely not recommended.
