Biblical Greek - Lesson 5 - 1st and 2nd person singular pronouns and the verb 'to be' - Free Greek.

Learn the first and second person singular pronouns and the corresponding verb 'to be', and hear your first short story in Biblical Greek!

What should you know after this lesson?
1. Know how to greet one another.
2. Recognize the 1st and 2nd person singular pronouns.
3. Recognize the 1st, 2nd and 3rd person singular forms of the verb 'to be'.

Learning this way will train you to understand words in context without having to know each and every word. Later, this will help you to read texts with some unfamiliar words. Don't worry, everything you need to know will be repeated when we learn to read.

In partnership with Aleph with Beth and SIL International.

Music: Azeezah - John Bilezikjian
Film clips: Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Thank you for another amazing lesson. So creative, joyous, lovely, clever, and easy to follow. It is a privilige to learn with you. I'm so thankful to the Lord for your ministry - hebrew and greek as well. (from Hungary)

I LOVE both of your series. I studied both languages in seminary and Aleph with Beth saved my grade in Hebrew. I learned Greek easier than Hebrew and is pretty good, but this series is still a great way to practice and continue learning Greek. Keep up the great work and know you’re really helping us learn God’s word.

My 3-year old son loved this lesson. The last part of the video at the end he narrated to me later using many greek words (smiling big and laughing).

A wonderful ending! I know you didn’t design this for kids, but that was a home-run! In the kids department, and for me. I hope you make more of these!

Man that was funny, it's amazing how well this works. The Chomsky language theory is no theory at all it is an absolute fact.

Hi! Every time I expect your lessons impatiently. I study also Hebrew with Alef and Bet. Thank you very much for your hard work, creativity, perfection.
You have sort of talent I suppose, for making absurd commedies (it is complement). I don't know if it is the proper name, because my native language is Polish. We have name : "absurd theatre" meaning plays with special humour, which shows the deformed reality. You have name "grotesque" but it is not the same, because it is ugly but yours is positive.

Was the intro video taken from Assassin's Creed Odyssey or is it custom made?

So when you ask τι τουτο εστιν, are you asking in the neuter because you don't know who the are yet? Or is there something else I don't understand?

The visuals were frozen on the "pteinon" part, around 8:00. Maybe it was my player?

But why do you pronounce ἐγώ with the accent on the ἐ instead of /eˈɣo/ with accent on ώ?
