Thanks for putting this out, Clay. What everyone needs to keep in mind when writing your statement is that it is a fail safe or back up when the C&P examiner makes an error or says something about you that contradicts your statement. This will set you up to win in a HLR during an informal conference with a DRO. Raters are required to address what is in your statement but are notorious for only looking at what the C&P examiner said. I was talking to a VA agent at my regional office on a VERA call (something that a lot of you youtubers don't talk about enough) and he told me that dates are critical during the rating process. Raters look at dates in your claim and statement referring to medical evidence. If there is a typo or you put a date wrong, the rater goes to look for that evidence for that date. If the date is wrong, the rater is likely to just ignore it and not spend time looking for the correct date. Make sure your dates are correct for anything you submit on your claim!

I used this exact template and got my migraines increased on my supplemental claim. Initially I was rated 0%, went thru the supplemental claim process online myself on Mar 6th and it went up to 50% as of today Apr 2nd. I'm up to 90% and I'm going back in for another supplemental claim. I was told individual item claims go thru faster so I tried it and it seems so. Good luck to anyone else in this battle, keep moving forward and just like any other journey we'll eventually get there👌🏾
