I’m really enjoying the “Are x the best pet invertebrate” series you’re doing. These shrimp are great. They’re so low maintenance and they look really cool, especially when they are having raves to techno music like at the end of the video.

First you make me buy dirt shrimp (my first isopods are being shipped out to me on Monday), now you make me want to set up a brackish tank so I can get these guys. You're a bad influence! I love it :)

Well, I'm sold. I'll be setting up a tank Saturday.

I’ve kept opae ula shrimp for approximately 4 years now. I originally purchased 10 from Mustfa plus ten Malaysian snails, a moss ball, and some algae. I also bought the white rocks he recommended. I set up a 1.5 gallon tank and today it is thriving with reproducing colony of these wonderful shrimp. The tank came with a filter that I didn’t use and a lid with s LED light ring that supplies the supplemental lighting that the tank gets. There are frequently baby shrimp floating around and berried shrimp in the tank. The initial setup was approximately $200 but negligible since. They give hours of entertainment. A great investment.

You can build a full ecosystem with these shrimps . These shrimbs are the foundation to the ecosystem .

I have 20 of this opae ulas for 5 years in distilled water. 3 month ago I changed to brackish water. They started to reproduce after 1 month using the brackish water.
Now I think I have 40 of them swimming around in my tank.
Thanks bro for the informative video. I learnt a lot.

I'm thinking about setting up a little tank with Opae Ula. I really appreciate how you provide information in a simple manner that even non-aquarium people like me can understand. Thank you!

Thanks Rus! You know I desperately want to fuss with mine but I’ve been keeping my hands off. Haha! They are hours of entertainment and so easy. I appreciate all the advice you’ve provided.

They look similar to a poor grade fresh water red cherry shrimp. Thanks for sharing 🙌

Hi! I am in the UK and the only exotic pets I keep are Giant African Land Snails, but I'm loving your informative videos. I've always been fascinated by invertebrates of all kinds and I used to keep common stick insects when I was younger. You're doing a great job. 👍

Hey, New sub here.
Thanks for posting. I'm a Life Science teacher with a classroom full of fish and shrimp tanks. I've never kept Opae Ula before but I have a three gallon glass cylinder that I was thinking of using for Neocaridina. I think I'll try Opae Ula instead. For the record, I once had a brackish tank (SG 1.010) with both Java moss and Culerpa growing at the same time. I don't know if the moss can go as high as 1.012 but I may give it a try.
Cheers,
Chris
