If you want to know what Google considers "Pro" just compare the regular Pixel 9 to the 9 Pro. Once you've done that you can determine that the Fold is not a Pro by Google's own standards.

I have been using it for almost a week now. Apparently a day one patch is still missing...there are bugs everywhere and the quality of the camera has, in my opinion, become significantly worse.

The cameras on the pixel pro fold is my most disappointing thing about the new fold I do think software does play a big part but so does the hardware. Another thing which I want to emphasise is that front display isn't the same as the pixel 9 pro as most YouTubers Keep saying the only thing is the same is the screen size. The resolution isn't the same the refresh rate isn't the same and the peak brightness isn't the same. lol granted the new pixel pro fold does look better in terms of build quality and improved hinge

The Oneplus Open does not have a "pro" in its name and yet better than the Pixel pro.

I am currently on Pixel fold after watching your videos last year. Did pre-order for 9 pro fold this year. And this clip tips the scale. I just cancel pre-order and look for next year exciting 10th version with expectedly new chip. Some of the software stuff are gimmicks and I could live without those for a year 😂

It does deserve it because the made major changes that Samsung refused to do listening to customers what they want like bigger batteries or screens. All make the experience much better. 45 watts charging also bro.

Its not pro at all, its just a pixel 9 fold because it does not have the 9 pro cameras. Now that the honor magic v3 is global likely i will end up returning my 9 fold and buying instead

I think they should just call it the P 9 Fold, and double the price of the P9, or maybe almost double, then make that the marketing material.

If they wanted to include and promote it as part the 9 series, I think It should have been called 9 Fold. the cameras, charging speed, storage speed... Everything you mentioned, doesn't add up. Honestly though, none of this matters. It is what it is. I'm sure its going to be extremely solid in almost every way, outside of the charging speeds. I think that's going to be the only thing that actually effects users on a day to day basis.

Like another commenter said, it's marketing. I think changing the body with incremental internal changes was intentional because the 10 is what their resources will be focused on. They changed just enough externally to still have the 'common' customer be like "oh this Google phone looks amazing". For the nerds and enthusiasts our year will be next year. "10th iteration" in general is a big number for tech companies which generally implies significant changes and a new beginning in a sense.

Can you tell us when the embargo is going to be up? I'm still debating between the P9PF and the Oneplus Open, but the biggest thing holding me up is wondering how much I'll care about the Oneplus Open's bad Wi-Fi versus P9PF's lack of One UI on the ZF6 or Open Canvas on the Oneplus Open, where both have better utilization of all that screen.

Name is used everywhere now but the definition of a professional device is you can use it to make money. You can and people do use iPhone Pro cameras to do that and also some top Android devices. Or you can use DEX and the s pen on Fold to do work so that’s pro. I love my pixel Fold but I wouldn’t say the new one is pro. Of course technically any device you use to make money or do work can be pro.

If there should be a pro or a ultra there should also be a regular where the pro or ultra should be something special

Not pro: you can't use your $80 pixel stand to charge it unless you rig it yourself to do so. That was thoughtless and stupid.
