Gillette just got back to me, they said the head is made in Germany👍👍

Everyone claims that the head looks like a R89 head, but that's not the case.
The head does not have the groove on the R89, which has a fully rounded base.

I want to see how it compares directly shaving vs the other gillette released for Xmas. I checked the head weight vs EJ and Muhle 29/32gr...

You would think that packing 10 blades in a huge box would protect them better - what a waist. That box would easily have hold 50 blades

Be prepared for a lot of heated comments Kevy👍👍

Interesting. Doesn't look bad either!
If I'm not mistaken, you are (quite rightly, I would add) an IKON and ABOVE THE TIE fan.
Hence, when to your convenience, I would greatly appreciate your views on
the following comparisons of razor heads (I'm considering a potential new purchase):
- IKON B1 vs. ATT R1 (or SSR1);
and
- IKON B1 slant vs. ATT S1 (or SS1 slant).
Thanks in advance.

Good evening Kevy! I just took some photographs to share with you...no longer needed as you have these items. The blades are nice. I am thinking they are Gillette Platinum or Platinum Plus blades, rebranded. I like the etched logo. I found them sharp and smooth. I found the razor was nice with good weight and balance. I don't like the torpedo shaped handle; it is heavier than it looks. Yep, the center of balance is at the halfway point in the knurling. It delivery a good shave; mild yet clean and close. I am thinking the BBS longevity will be 8 to 12 hours...we shall see. I shaved with it 7 hours ago and it still feel smooth.

Thanks for the unboxing. I would have liked to see a clear look of the top of the razor head and cap with a blade inserted to see if there was perfectly equal blade exposure from top to bottom and on each side.. Edwin Jaggers usually are perfect but Merkurs usually are not.

I'm so happy you were able to get one! Those blades are nice. I'm not sure if it's a rebrand or relabel of one of their current Russian made blades, but they are smooth and sharp.

Hi Kevy,
I'm going to have my first shave with this King C Gillette Razor today. I will use the king C blades too. My Nacet blades turned up today so will try those later. I also have the Q-Shave Futur copy to try as well! I hope you and yours are well and staying safe.
Dave.

Hi Kevy! Can you please tell me if the geometry of the head reminds you the one of the Edwin Jagger 316? Thank you!

Never used a DE razor or blade but bought this to try it out and see if it's something I like, or of I should just stick with cartridges. I have pretty damn thick, course hair and I fond I get my best shave if I wait 3 days in between shaves, or else my skin gets pretty damn irritated. Wondering if wet shaving with a DE will allow me to shave more frequently without nicking and cutting my face all up and ending up with razor bumps on my neck. I just got a bare bones kit that comes with a boars hair brush, a bowl, shaving soap, and the King Gillete safety razor and blades like in this video. Any good tips for a first time attempt? I've watched several videos so I think I have the basics down; fill a cup with hot water and let the brush soak for about 10 minutes, then put some shaving soap in a bowl, add a couple drops of water, shake the brush out good and then stir up the soap vigorously with the brush for a minute or so, run some warm water over my face to moisturize it, rub a dime size drip of shave oil in my hands and then rub onto my face, then brush on the shaving soap in a circular motion working it into the facial hair. Hold the razor at a 45 degree angle, going with the grain first and making short 1" strokes until I complete the first pass. Rinse face with warm water and lather up again, this time making back to front strokes until face is done. Can do a 3rd pass if smoothness isn't to my liking, going against the grain(down to up). When finished rinse face with warm water and then rinse again with cold water to close pores.

The packaging is low cost carton. But the german made head is top quality with excellent blade positioning, so this razor is top quality. Superb value for money! I have one now and tested it. Works great with SuperMax Super Stainless blades for 4 shaves for me.

How does it feel to be the only one across the pond with that razor.

Wonder if those blades are Gillette Platinums just with a different logo. I also wonder if they’re going to sell 100 packs

Hi Kevy,
Just shaved with the King C Razor and blade. I was pleasantly surprised with both razor and blade. I find it better if I do 2 with the grain passes, then 1 across and 1 against. The Razor was smooth and pretty mild and the blade was nice and smooth too. I reckon that the king c blades are a little sharper than Derby and just as smooth. I used Proraso white preshave, proraso green cream sample I was sent, Taylors HT2 Super badger brush and proraso sensitive balm. I find the Taylors super badger brushes just right for me as my best can be a little spiky and my Silvertip can be too floppy. They have just the right backbone for me. Other than that its my Trafalgar T3 I love.
I think this is a great little razor for the price and would be great for a young man just getting started. My 3 favourites at present are my AS-D2, my Outlaw and my 6c. I am still on the fence about getting a 6s!!
Take care my friend,
Dave.

Hey, Kevy! I hope you’re doing well. First time commenting on one of your videos, but I’ve kept up with your channel for a few months now. It’s always a bright spot in my day when you have a new video up! I was able to snag one of these this morning. It’s got very nice weight to it, and it gave a great shave for only being $30. The angle was easy to find, and the slim head made it easy to navigate in the tough-to-shave areas. Zero irritation on my first shave with it. I’d say the aggression was comparable to the 4 plate on my Rockwell 6s. The only downside to me is the design of the handle. Its hard to keep a grip on, the rounded bottom, and it’s just a bit long for me. The blades were nice, but I won’t be buying anymore as I’m sure they’re just one of the St. Petersburg blades that are rebranded with a higher price tag. Overall well worth the money though. Keep up the great content!

Do I need this razor? I found it here for 14 euros with a big discount in the local pharmacy.

My parents told me If I didn't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all🙄 Glad I have a bunch of "vintage" Gillette razors and blades though, as time goes by, the more valuable "they" become. Nice unboxing video anyway. Enjoy!
