How To Record Harmonies Properly In Logic Pro X:

0:00 - Record Vocal Harmonies Properly In Logic Pro X:

Step 1: Setup a MIDI layer, open a piano instrument.

Step 2: Setup an audio layer, and setup both to record at the same time.

Step 3: Play a 3-key chord progression on the piano that will be your vocal harmony.

Step 4: Isolate just the top key in the piano chord, and record a vocal layer following the notes.

Step 5: Repeat the above step for the middle and bottom notes. EQ each as needed.

Step 6: Select/Highlight all of the vocal layers, right click, create track stack / summing track.

Step 7: Add EQ, Reverb, Effects, ETC to the summing layer to glue them all together better and fit them into the pockets of your beats frequencies.

You should now have three layers of vocals, each of them following the notes in their part of the chord. Your voice is basically an instrument, and chording your voice is basically harmonizing.

You can now play with adding more notes higher/lower, or start your backing tracks and make more harmonies over these.

It also really helps to stereo image/pan your harmony combos and velocity levels to fill out the spectrum vs all centered and full volume.

That's it!
