Progress on Measuring Resilience

Progress is being made on developing and applying approaches to measuring resilience and analyzing what contributes to it. In this meeting, Tim Frankenberger of TANGO International, Mark Constas of Cornell University, and Jon Kurtz of Mercy Corps spoke about some of the approaches to resilience measurement.

Specifically, the session covered:
• The principles and common analytical framework developed by the Resilience Measurement Technical Working Group
• The resilience measurement methodology and indicators used for the impact evaluation of the USAID Feed the Future-funded PRIME project in Ethiopia
• The approach used by Mercy Corps in the Philippines to analyze the determinants of household resilience to and recovery from Typhoon Yolanda
