I think there's a real potential for Country And Irish crossing over into mainstream American country. If you turn on mainstream country radio in America right now, it's a little bit off the rails, as happens from time to time over here; a lot of the music is trying to be something else and is frequently out of touch with the decades-old country legacy.
This woman's music sounds more country than most of what you'd hear on mainstream American country radio these days. I think there's a real latent hunger over here for this kind of sound among people who truly value country music and know what the best of it has always been about. I think the right Country And Irish artist could end up jumping the firebreak and catching on in America.
Maybe this woman could be such an artist. I look forward to finding out.
