Small business opened for almost 50 years. New landlord claimed its planned to revitalized the area with wider variety of food. Sushi bar and Mediterranean food sound varieties to me? What wrong with them?

We can have a modern, thriving, pluralistic society or we can have billionaires.

Let's raise the rents! Let's have even MORE empty storefronts! Who the hell is buying our country and selling us out? Rents are TOO DAMN HIGH‼️‼️‼️

So then why do you need to get rid of the small businesses that are already there.

The new landlords suck! They stated that they DON'T want franchises and large chains and neither of the restaurants shown are those things. Doesn't make any sense. Seems they must already have tenants that can and will pay more than the current tenants and it's "simply business" ... nothing personal. Jerks!

I worked in San Francisco back in the late 90's until the late 2000. Busy streets even on the weekends and the holidays always brought me so much joy with all the lights all around. Another favorite of mine was the FAO Schwarz on Union Square and my god, it truly brings the kid out of you. Now, with new regulations, new laws that are not helping, real estate prices are higher than before and having all the wrong people to run this city has turned it into a ghost town. We destroyed this beautiful city in less than a decade.

The situation is sad, but the impulse to push legislation to further restrict property rights is why no one can afford to live in that city. Just let the market work…

Of course Peskin will waste no time to jump out from woodwork and taken credits as community leader by introducing some bogus legislation to BOS to vote. SF is a joke. This is a free market landlord can raise their rent and negotiate new lease once old lease expired. Why it is so hard for some people to understand

Legislating legacy is going to open up another can of worms.

Per contract agreement you can’t do anything but to comply. They are called Landlord for that reason. The media can’t do anything about it.

“Forced out?” No, that’s misleading. The lease is up and the owner doesn’t want to renew. It sounds all legal to me.

just boycott the new businesses if this occur
