Preparing a CF card for use on a retro system using VMware Workstation (and some Compaq notes)

This video goes through the procedures of preparing a CF card for use in a retro computer system using VMware Workstation. Since I had VMware workstation already, I wanted to try this with that software. I do make a brief note about the Compaq Diagnostic Partition. I haven't found a way to copy those on a non Compaq system, but we can use them in DOS.

Some additional notes relating to the Compaq LTE Elite & Contura Aero & 400 series:

This procedure is only good on systems with cards that are 512MB and under.

There is also a procedure coming out for installing the Diagnostic Partition on a modern system. This will be uploaded Summer of 2023.
